Chris is fantastic!! He takes the time to get to know you what you are looking for in a boat. First Class! We contacted Chris about visiting Rio Dulce from CA to look at a few boats. Chris helped make the trip south easy; first by providing a contract for a driver to meet us at the airport and take us to an ATM and then the to catch the bus to RIo Dulce. Chris met us the next morning to show us boats. During this time he also gave us local tips and familiarized us with the area. Chris provides a great service and makes it easier to buy a boat and provides advice and important information from registration to haul outs. It's a beautiful area and we are looking forward to next season. Thank you Chris! Tomread more

We could not be more pleased with the service we received from Chris. We would recommend Seakist Yacht Sales to anyone interested in buying a boat in Rio Dulce. Since this was our first "real" sailboat we really appreciated Chris's knowledge of boats, the boat buying process, and the Rio Dulce area. Chris was helpful with travel and hotel suggestions, which meant a lot since we have never traveled to Guatemala before. After a few conversations about our plans and price point, Chris showed us what was available to fit our needs. While also giving us a grand tour of the area and pointing out where to get this and that along the way. Once we made our decision he walked us step by step through the survey/sea trial and on through the escrow and registration process. All along the way he was always promp with replies to our questions and timely in his attendance to the stages of the process. Chris even met us at the bus station to give us a lancha ride to our boat when we first moved aboard and made a couple marina suggestions considering our lack of a dinghy.read more

We actually found a sailboat in Rio Dulce to purchase and went to see it.Unfortunately, once we got there the boat was not as advertised, (Facebook for sale by owner). We contacted a local broker, Chris Stanley at Seakist,Chris immediately asked for an interview to determine our wants, budget and overall goals. The very next day Chris picked us up and showed us everything that met our agenda and a few he thought we would consider. We found " the one" the very next day and made an offer. From there Chris handled everything from survey to a diesel mechanic and scheduling a sea trial. He basically held our hand throughout the whole process not only working for us but also the seller to get the right deal for both. It was so easy. After negotiations resulting from the survey, we came to a mutual agreement and began the International paperwork. ASAP the title and registration company set up an escrow account making the financial and paperwork transaction simple and straightforward.Chris also went out of his way to ensure we had the tools we needed for our stay in Rio Dulce. We didn't speak any Spanish and were really not prepared for an extended stay. He ever took us on a tour of the town and introduced us to people to make us feel at home there.6 months later, we are thrilled with our purchase of a 38ft Moody monohull Sailboat and are about to sail away to our next adventure.Chris has helped us in so many ways, in fact, we are currently slipped at his marina while in the states. I feel absolutely confident our Yacht is secure and maintained in our absence.I've met so many people that Chris has helped with their dream, all happyOur new interiorcustomers.I've also met people that didn't use Chris with their purchase and have heard all types of terrible things about the transactions.I wouldn't recommend trying to save a few bucks and doing it on your own. The experience we had with Chris Stanley at SeaKist was simple, straightforward and resulted in us buying the best boat for us with no surprises, and saving us a lot of money in the end.Jeff and Maria ArmsNovember 2018read more
